Avalon Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of first-in-class cancer therapeutics. Our lead product candidate, AVN944, an IMPDH inhibitor, is in Phase II clinical development. Late stage preclinical programs include inhibitors of the Beta-catenin and Aurora/Centrosome pathways, discovery programs for inhibitors of the Survivin and Myc pathways. We have partnerships with Merck, AstraZeneca/MedImmune, ChemDiv, Medarex, and Novartis which utilize our proprietary platform technology, AvalonRx®. The technology is based on large-scale biomarker identification and monitoring, to discover and develop therapeutics for pathways that have historically been characterized as "undruggable."

Avalon Pharmaceuticals was established in 1999 and completed our initial public offering in 2005. We are headquartered in Germantown, Maryland.
